The fantastical living fence

Spring is a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can be

I saw the team doing this on Clarkson's farm and it reminded me of the ancient art of hedge laying and I wanted to have a go.  Our neighbours wanted some privacy and we thought it would be nice to create a screening that would look beautiful and natural.

After decades of untamed growth, we had to do quite a bit of clearing to create the lush, thriving garden we have today. But in the process, we were able to create a natural habitat for wildlife. The trees, shrubs, and flowers that once stood neglected and overgrown now provide a hiding and nesting place for birds and other animals.

Upon closer inspection, we were delighted to see a variety of feathered friends darting in and out of the space. The great tits, robins, blue tits, and wren that had made themselves at home were a testament to the hard work and dedication we had put into creating a natural and welcoming environment. Be sure to visit our kitchen garden to see Jake's incredible work!
