Each year, Bath's Royal Victoria Park becomes home to Forest of Imagination - a free outdoor exhibition of large-scale art installations, designed to spark curiosity and creative thinking in visitors of all ages. Entry is free, with donations supporting the House of Imagination, a UK charity dedicated to nurturing children's creative thinking through arts, research and collaborative learning with artists and educators.
We're now fortunate to have welcomed four of these installations into our own grounds. Scattered across the estate, they invite guests to wander, pause and look at the landscape a little differently - a quiet meeting of art and nature that stays with you long after the exhibition in Bath has packed up for the year.

Created by Invisible Forest and Charley Brentnall for Forest of Imagination 2023 and built by architecture students from the University of Reading, this striking timber structure was designed as a place for gathering, rest and outdoor learning.

First unveiled at Forest of Imagination's 2026 Entry Hill festival, The Chrysalis is an outdoor classroom designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and artist Matthew Leece, offering shelter for workshops and performances alongside a calm space for rest and reflection.

Latin for "waggle dance," Movere Choro is a 3D-printed sculpture made from plant matter, potato starch and sugar, its twelve honeycomb dodecahedrons modelled on data captured from a real Salisbury beehive using a bespoke 3D printer built by Edward Chudleigh MBE.

house of imagination
House of Imagination is a UK research organisation dedicated to children's and young people's creative and critical thinking. It provides spaces for children to collaborate directly with creative professionals, using research to shape programmes that help children express themselves through creative activity, and support teachers in bringing more of that creativity into schools.
At its heart is a simple belief: children need more room to experiment and create, and teachers need more support to help them do it. Through workshops, events and partnership work, House of Imagination aims to build confidence, resilience and creative courage in the next generation, and in turn, a stronger cultural life for us all.

25th-27th September
This year's Forest of Imagination theme, "Enter the Chrysalis," explored transformation at Entry Hill - a hidden landscape of woodland and grassland on the edge of Bath — through new art installations, workshops and playful interventions that invited visitors to reconnect with nature and imagination.
This September, the project returns with "A River of Dreams," a continuous living installation exploring what Entry Hill could become: a permanent home for creativity, ecological learning and community, shaped by artists, educators, families and the wider community.
