Welcome to your dedicated Club Bishopstrow updates page. As we continue our exciting spa development programme and introduce enhancements across the club, we want to ensure you are kept fully in the picture. We will be updating these frequently asked questions on a monthly basis, so please do check back regularly to stay informed on our progress.

Beforehand, we would like to share an important update as we continue to enhance and invest in your overall experience with us.
From 27th to 29th April, as part of our ongoing development works, the gas supply to the hotel will be temporarily turned off. During this time, both the hotel and spa will remain fully operational. Our restaurant will offer a thoughtfully curated reduced menu, and we anticipate the gas supply will be fully restored by 3:00 pm on 29th April. We appreciate your understanding while these essential improvements are carried out.
1. Q. How can I stay informed about your Blue Light and Military card discounts??
A. Thank you for raising this. We do not proactively ask members if they hold a Blue Light or Military card, so this is something members would need to bring to our attention at the time of enquiry or renewal. We appreciate this may not have been clear previously.
2. Q. Why has the Blue Light discount reduced from 10% to 5%?
A. We are not affiliated with the Blue Light scheme; however, we will offer a discretionary 5% discount as a gesture of appreciation for those in active service. To receive this, a valid card must be presented at the point of renewal, with payment made in full. We understand any change in discount may be disappointing and appreciate your understanding.
3. Q. Will the loyalty rate of £1,950 remain the same next year?
A. The £1,950 rate is a transitional loyalty rate for this year. From your next renewal, membership pricing will align with the standard rate applicable at that time. We recognise the importance of transparency around pricing and will continue to communicate any future changes in advance.
4. Q. How many fitness classes or experiences are included in the new membership?
A. There has not previously been a set number of classes included within the current membership. The introduction of a structured class allocation enhances our fitness offering, ensuring all members have consistent and fair access to classes and experiences.
We aim to offer an average of three sessions per week. Should you wish to attend additional sessions beyond this allocation, these will be available at a supplementary charge.
5. Q. Why are Under 33 memberships offered at a lower price?
A. This approach reflects wider industry practices and is intended to support younger individuals in accessing wellness facilities, particularly in relation to mental health and wellbeing. We remain committed to creating an inclusive environment for all age groups.
6. Q. When will my membership increase to the higher rate?
A. The new membership pricing will take effect from October:
- If your membership renews between June and September, a pro-rata rate will apply until October.
- If your membership renews in October or later, the new rate of £1,950 will apply from your renewal date.
7. Q. I come to Bishopstrow to relax and unwind, however I have experienced some members displaying negative behaviour, a sense of entitlement, and rudeness towards both guests and staff. How will this be addressed to ensure a more positive environment?
A. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming, respectful, and relaxing environment for all our members and guests. Behaviour that is rude, disruptive, or disrespectful towards other members or our team is not tolerated.
Where concerns are raised, we address them directly and professionally with the individuals involved. Should this behaviour continue after intervention, we will take further action, which may include revoking membership.
Our aim is to foster a positive, community-focused atmosphere, ensuring Bishopstrow remains a calm and enjoyable place for everyone to relax and unwind.
